Author Guidelines

1. Before Submission

The author is expected to have an understanding of the Editor Police (About, aim and scopes, peer review process, publication ethics, open access policy, copyright and licence, and article processing charges) Volunteer Report. 

2. Prepare Manuscript 

The prepared article should be formatted with the manuscript template.

Title

Concise and informative. Titles are often used in information retrieval systems. Avoid abbreviations and formula where possible.

Author names and affiliations.

Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. You can add your name between parentheses in your script behind the English transliteration. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lowercase superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name and, if available, the e-mail address of each author.

Corresponding author

Indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication, as well as post-publication. This responsibility includes answering any future queries about Methodology and Materials. Ensure that the e-mail address is given and that contact details are kept up to date by the corresponding author.

Abstract

The abstract contains a brief description of the community service activities that have been carried out, including the problems faced by the community, the community service activities that have been implemented, the results of the activities, and the relevance of the community service activities to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The number of words should be between 150 and 250.

Keywords

Provide a list of keywords relevant to your community service article, in alphabetical order, separated by semicolons (;). 4-5 keywords.

Subdivision - numbered sections

Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1.1 (then 1.1.1, 1.1.2, ...), 1.2, etc. (the abstract is not included in section numbering). Use this numbering also for internal cross-referencing: do not just refer to 'the text'. Any subsection may be given a brief heading. Each heading should appear on its separate line.

Introduction

The introduction should at least describe the background of the community service program, the solutions, objectives, and targets.

Background of Community Service Implementation: Describe the situation analysis and issues of the partner to be addressed. The situation analysis description must be comprehensive in order to fully describe the partner's conditions, including the region, community, and issues. The situation analysis is explained based on the existing conditions of the partner/community to be empowered, accompanied by a partner profile complete with informative data and images. This is particularly applicable to partners operating in the fields of economics and entrepreneurship development. The existing conditions of the partner must be explained comprehensively, from upstream to downstream, and as much as possible presented in the form of quantifiable data.

Solution: Describe the solution to the problem. The solution to the problem is the result of previous research or service that has been published. (Include citations from the author's research articles or relevant articles).

Objectives and Targets: Describe the objectives and targets to be achieved by each solution, both in terms of production and business management (for productive economic partners or those moving towards a productive economy), or in accordance with specific solutions to the problems faced by partners from economically unproductive community groups.

Implementation of Community Service

Describe the general outline of the community service methods that have been implemented. If you use published or standard community service methods, please cite them.

Results and impacts of Community Service implementation

Describe the results and impacts of community service activities in accordance with the targets and success indicators of the program that have been set. The results and impacts may be divided into several subheadings in accordance with the targets or success indicators of the program. Describe how community service activities that have been carried out support efforts to achieve the SDGs.

Conclusion and recommendations

The conclusion contains a brief statement that answers the objectives of the activity and explains:

1. The level of program success based on activity results and evaluation data.
2. The tangible benefits felt by the target community/partners.
3. The impact of change (knowledge, skills, attitudes, or social/economic conditions).
4. The relevance of the implementation methods used during the program.
5. Provide recommendations for further community service initiatives based on the results of the PkM activities conducted.

Author's Contribution

State the contribution of each author in the implementation of pengabdian kepada masyarakat activities based on their expertise.

Funding statement

State who funded the Community Service activities that have been carried out. If there is no funding institution, state “The Community Service activities carried out were not funded by any institution.”

Acknowledgement

Write a thank you note to the people or institutions that helped in the implementation of Community Service that were not members of Community Service or authors of this article.

Competing interest

A declaration of interest for all authors must be received before an article can be reviewed and accepted for publication.

Ethical clearance

Write down the community service permit number issued by the local authority in the location of the service, as well as a statement of approval from the partner regarding the community service activities that have been carried out and approved for publication.

AI Statements

If authors do not use AI-tools at all, please state that “This article is the original work of the author without using AI-tools for writing sentences and/or creating/editing tables and figures in this manuscript”.

Note:

    1. Researcher and Lecturer Society (Publisher) strictly prohibits the use of generative AI or AI-tools to generate sentences/image creation/image modification in any form;
    2. The use of AI-tools to draw insights from data as part of the research process, not to produce the sentences, tables, and figures in the article, is allowed;
    3. AI-tools must not be authors or co-authors, or cited as authors.

If authors use AI-tools, please state for what purpose the AI-tools are used and what the name of the AI-tools used are. The followings are the common uses of AI-tools to help authors:

  1. Checking the grammar use in the manuscript (Grammarly, Hemingway App, Linguix, Reverso, etc.);
  2. Improving coherence and cohesiveness to get better readability and understandability of readers (website-based AI Tools, e.g. ChatGPT, Copy AI, Prosa.ai, Revoicer, QuillBot AI, etc.)

Hereby, authors have to mention the tool’s name and state that they have rechecked the accuracy and correctness of the data and language used and have consulted English language expert for validation and verification (state the name of the expert or the institution). The checking process must be carried out manually as AI generally produces sentences that sound overconfident and authoritative, and change meaning that can be incorrect, incomplete, or biased. However, authors are ultimately responsible and accountable for the whole content of the article.

*Example statement: “The grammatical structure of this article was improved by using ChatGPT and the authors have rechecked the accuracy and correctness of the generated sentences with the topic and data of this study. The data and language use in this article have been validated and verified by an English language expert and none of the AI-generated sentences includes in this article".

References

References are in APA style. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). The main references are international journals, proceedings and book. All references should be to the most pertinent and up-to-date sources (80% of references must be taken from the past 4 years). Citations are preferred to use Mendeley Reference Manager. If possible, the article’s DOI should be given for each reference list. Each citation should be written in the order of appearance in the text.

Authors who publish articles in journals under RLS are strictly prohibited from citing articles published in predatory journals as listed on https://beallslist.net/. The consequences of doing so are:

1. If it is found during the review process, the article will be rejected by the editor;
2. If it is found after the article is published, the article will be retracted by RLS.

3. Submission process

  1. You must read and acknowledge that you've completed the requirements below before proceeding.
  2. You should provide a cover letter and a manuscript for completing the submission process.
  3. Please fill in the title, abstract, all the participated author names and also keywords in the metadata
  4. If you have completed the stages, then click “finish submission”
