Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to enhance emotional recognition among children in Jorong Sungai Janiah, Baso District, through an interactive psychoeducational approach. The program was prompted by the limited emotional literacy of local children, often constrained by socio-cultural norms regarding emotional expression. The intervention was implemented using participatory methods, including simple material presentation, drawing sessions, and storytelling, designed to create a fun learning environment. Data were collected through direct observation and activity documentation, followed by descriptive qualitative analysis. Results indicate that the children participated actively and showed an improved ability to identify and express basic emotions such as happiness, sadness, anger, and fear. Furthermore, this activity contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by promoting mental health and inclusive social-emotional education. This program suggests that structured psychoeducation at the community level is an effective medium for fostering psychological well-being from an early age.
